Purchased so I could push swimming to more than one mile a day. This makes swimming laps sooooooooooo much more enjoyable.

I'm disabled vet and can't do a lot of sports and exercises like I used to, but I can swim. I was up to a mile but it gets so tedious swimming laps. I bough this and today i did 2 miles for first time!

I swim fully underwater and it works. What's more to say?

I clip it to the back of my goggles and put extra wire from earbuds under the the goggle strap and it works wonderfully. Used it twice now and it just stays in place and works wonderfully. Will update if it fails in unreasonable short amount of time, but I am very impressed so far.

I am 44 and have been an Apple fan for many years... Recently, I gave my iPod Touch 16GB to my step daughter...I missed a portable player of my own and wanted another... I tried many - 6th Generation Nano, Classic, and another iTouch 64GB - to use with my Bose IE2 in ear headphones (that replaced a paid of Denon's I gave to my wife!). Anyway, I was disappointed with the sound out of each of the Apple devices mentioned above and decided to try a Google Android device in the Galaxy 5 - also equally disappointing... You aren't able to create a more customized sound out of any of these (other than the pre-defined presets designated by Apple)devices, until I tried the A Series Walkman! The ability to create sound profiles that include a Bass enhancer/dynamic range, 5 band graphic equalizer, and stereo outputs, etc etc. is truly amazing! The sound out of this Walkman blows Apple out of the water. Combined with the Bose in ears, this duo will be hard to beat with anything in the market today. Bluetooth to my car (BMW) is also equally stellar and amazing. I HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for an 'AUDIOPHILE' type personal/portable solution to give this a try. It WILL NOT disappoint - long live Google Android Toshiba Thrive and my Sony Walkman...

The MP3 player did not at all meet the stated specifications.

The battery duration is stated 6 - 8 hours, but, it hardly lasts 3 hours.
The touch screen is annoying, I have to keep touching and touching and pressing and pressing hard to activate the icon.
I have so recorded songs on it. With the frustration struggling to listen songs I did not dare ( or rather bother ) to load videos.
I believe one problem is enough.
As for FM Fine Tuner, it is absolutely not fine, the sound quality is marred by static and acute disturbance when the player is move from one position to the other.

Can I return it back and get the SONY Player (which I had initially on my mind, but with the advertised features and price of this Coby player tempted me towards it. )

This is my 2nd sony mp3 player. My last one lasted 3.5 years before the battery started not wanting to hold a charge.

If all you want is something to listen to music on then this is an awesome player. I don't do audiobooks so for me thats not an issue

I've had it for 2 weeks and have dropped it twice...still works perfectly. It has an amazingly long battery life....I've owned 4 previous mp3 players (2 creatives, a previous generation sony and a sansa) and this one blows the others away with how long a charge lasts

I have two complaints...the screen scratches easily and its had to make a playlist atleast without using the sony software

Unlike a lot of reviewers who post reviews on a product they've never seen or held (Apple Stores were told they wouldn't get theirs until the end of October--per Charlotte NC store) ----- I actually have one.

I ordered mine on Oct 12, and it arrived Oct 20. I of course ordered the 60GB device.

It was easy to swap out my old 40 GB device with this new one. I'd previously installed the new iTunes and the iPod software version 10-12-05 that I'd downloaded. It was plug in, register, and download. (And I had to swap cables on my dock***.)

Some observations:

The screen is very bright when you turn the backlight on and leave it on, it's very dim if you don't (probably how they get the stated 20 hour battery life).

***No more Firewire connections. I was sad to see that, as the Firewire connection saved me from getting a new USB hub.

The Holy Grail is video here...however, converting it to iPod standards isn't easy. I have a lot of DiVX video, to which the QuickTime Converter isn't up to recognizing, much less converting. Forget about 3rd party converters that you already own, it seems the iPod only wants Apple-converted video. But rest assured, there are software developers frantically scrambling to solve this. I have a couple of beta converters I found, but with very mixed results. I'd give it a couple of weeks then good software will be available for converting video to the iPod.

The sound is as good as ever, no worries there.

It has the same width and height as my 40GB iPod, so your cases should fit nicely, and maybe a similar thickness to the old 10/20 GB iPods. It fits in my auto transmitter/charger, but I have to slightly angle it back as I'm inserting it to hit the dock squarely.

All in all, the video situation was disappointing, but with lots of money at stake, it will get worked out by all these 3rd party developers. I did manage to get a couple very short preexisting QuickTime videos converted successfully to the iPod standard, so I know it DOES play video - the problem is just the conversion process. Not necessarily Apple's fault, except that their video standard is maybe a little too rigid.

I have been an iPod evangalist since I first turned on the 5GB. As you may know from my reviews of the 5, 15, 20, and 40GB models, I've owned (or given as gifts) just about every incarnation of this glorious device. So, when Apple announced that it was releasing a dramatically redesigned version of the iPod, I knew right away it would at least be a hit, perhaps even enjoy the almost "cult-like" status of its larger parent.

So I pre-ordered 3 of them; one for each of my sisters and myself. They arrived about a week ago and I'm happy to report that Apple has done it again with the release of the iPod Mini. It totally ROCKS!

There are allot of things I like about this model, but before I get into them A VERY IMPORTANT WARNING TO THOSE THAT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT:

YOU MUST CHARGE AT LEAST 4 HOURS BEFORE USE!

I, like so many I'm sure, was very eager to "plug and play". I did, without fully charging them, and they experienced all kinds of impossible to resolve errors.

Now, in the event you've already bought one, or simply can't help yourself, there is a little known "reset feature" on the mini that will come in handy whenever you have an issue.

TO RESET THE MINI, PRESS AND HOLD THE MENU AND SELECT BUTTON (the middle round button) FOR SIX SECONDS.

That'll bring your baby back to life.

The colors are awesome (I have the blue, silver, and pink), look very stylish, and will likely show less wear. If you have the patience, consider having Apple engrave them for you (looks very cool).

The sound is excellent. I don't have a testing lab, but I could swear that the sound quality is better; and I'm almost certain that they can play at a higher volume.

Another important improvement is the fact that when skipping forward more than a handful of songs the mini doesn't stall (for a second or two) like it's predecessors.

So, in conclusion, this is a wonderful new player that'll be sure to WOW everyone that owns it, and create envious spectators out of those that don't.
